Thanks to the new version of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), operators of home photovoltaic systems have benefited from more favorable conditions since the beginning of the year. This is the opinion of the energy advice service of the consumer advice center. Funding has been extended, remuneration rates increased and bureaucratic obstacles and taxes reduced. These changes particularly affect systems with an output of three to twenty kilowatts, which are common for single-family homes. The aim is to significantly increase the use of renewable energies.<\/p>\n
Since mid-2022, higher remuneration rates have applied for newly commissioned systems. A distinction is made between systems for self-supply and for full feed-in with staggered remuneration rates. Energy expert Martin Brandis from the consumer advice center emphasizes: \"For most consumers, it is most economical to use their solar power themselves.\" What is new is that systems with certain output limits can feed all of the electricity generated into the public grid without being throttled to 70 percent of the nominal output, as was the case until the end of 2022.<\/p>\n
The financing of photovoltaic systems can be supported by loans from the KfW \"Renewable Energies Standard\" program as well as funding programs from the federal states and local authorities. Tax relief is also available: For the 2022 tax year, photovoltaic systems on single-family homes and outbuildings with an output of up to 30 kilowatts are retroactively exempt from income tax.
