Additional measures such as building renovations and the expansion of local transport are necessary, especially in rural areas. The next stage of European CO2 emissions trading, EU-ETS2, will start in 2027, with the CO2 price being determined by a market mechanism. Experts anticipate a significant increase in CO2 taxes.
