More and more Germans are thinking about moving to the countryside. This is the result of a recent online survey of 1,000 respondents conducted by Innofact AG on behalf of ImmoScout24. The online survey shows that two out of three respondents (63 percent) have already toyed with the idea of moving to the countryside. Men (66 percent) are more likely to be drawn to a rural region than women (just under 60 percent). In terms of age groups, 18- to 29-year-olds and 30- to 39-year-olds in particular are considering this move.<\/p>\n
But what do respondents hope to gain from moving to the countryside? This was also determined in the online survey. In the survey, 72 percent of respondents said that they expected more peace and quiet. In addition, 2\/3 of respondents like the proximity to nature and 63 percent like the possibility of having a garden. In addition to the advantages, the respondents also saw some disadvantages. These include longer commutes to work, fewer shopping opportunities and fewer cultural offerings.<\/p>\n
According to those responsible, the results of the online survey are also consistent with other ImmoScout24 data. These show, among other things, that demand for single-family homes rose by more than 31% between January 2020 and January 2022. Condominiums are also in greater demand (+ 20 percent). In addition, it has become increasingly important to buyers of condominiums over the past two years to have a balcony (+19%) or a garden (+23%).
