Forward-looking planning and flexible use of real estate will become increasingly important in the future. On the one hand, vacancies can be avoided in this way. On the other hand, it can ensure sustainable developments in existing buildings. These are the conclusions of the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER).<\/p>\n
It is true that newly introduced subsidy programs could enable interested parties to fulfil their dream of owning their own home, provided that high ecological standards are met. However, according to the IOER, demographic change is expected to lead to vacancies in the single-family home sector from 2030. It is therefore important to plan ahead when building, both on the part of the funding providers and the building owners.<\/p>\n
A sustainable solution could be the planning of divisible single-family homes in order to adapt the living space to changing needs and avoid vacancies.
